The Apartment is located in Nessebar, which is about 25 minutes from Bourgas airport
Money ExchangeYou will get a better rate of exchange if you bring English notes and exchange them in the local bank. There is one sited directly under the apartment but do remember to bring some Leva with you for your first night in case the banks are closed. The hotel also has a money exchange but the rates are better at the bank. You may also use your cards in the cash machines at the banks below the apartment. There will be a charge from your bank so take out the maximum which is 400 Leva equivalent to 200 pounds per day. Eating OutIt is amazingly cheap to eat and drink out and you will find that new Nessebar is a lot cheaper than old Nessebar, also a couple of streets back from the beach is much cheaper than the beachfront bars and restaurants. For example a beer may range from £1 on the beach to 30p a few streets back. Order Bulgarian vodka or Gin – its half the price and just as good. In the restaurants most of the menus have photographs of the dish which is helpful. Everything is ordered individually, for example if you order meat you have to choose which type of potatoes you want separately. The range of salads are great as well, and you get large helpings – too much usually for one. It is common for a meal for 4 adults including wine to be around £25-£30 pounds. It is usual to give a 10% or so tip, and with those prices that is never usually a problem. ShoppingNessebar/Sunny Beach has everything you need for your holiday, but if you are looking for a wider choice of clothes, handbag and shoe shops head to Bourgas where they have a nice pedestrianised shopping street. Top quality leather UK handbags normally £60 are only £20 in Bourgas. Shoes are good quality too and a real bargain. Trendy jeans can be bought for around £12. Mens shirts are another good buy and very stylish. Many of the shops stock a mix of mens, womens and children’s clothing so it always worth going in for a look! You can find a nice selection of glassware and leather goods here too. The same applies to Nessebar and it is much nearer if you don’t want a trip to the city. The prices in Nessebar tend to be cheaper than Sunny Beach. Buses and TaxisAt Panorama Beach you can hail a taxi right outside the entrance to the apartment block, try to agree a price with the taxi driver first – they can spot a tourist easily and tend to increase the price - so try your hand at haggling! The local bus stop is nearby (35p per person approx) a very cheap way to get to to Sunny Beach or Bourgas. You may also like to take the fun train or water taxi to Sunny Beach. ToiletsOutside the hotels and apartments you may find you have to pay for toilets it is common to pay a small fee to use them. This is about 10 – 30 stotinki which is between 4 – 12 pence! Make sure you have change in your pockets at all times! |
